Have you heard of The 401 Challenge? It’s a seriously impressive undertaking by Ben Smith, who ran 401 marathons in 401 days!
Ben's non-stop running raised over £250,000 for two fantastic charities, ‘Stonewall’ and ‘Kidscape’. Both these charities work tirelessly to combat bullying in our schools and society.
Ben shared with us what it took to up his game to such epic proportions, and where he found the courage to do it.
WHAT DOES COURAGE MEAN TO YOU?
Believing so much in your heart and soul why you are doing something and knowing that is for the greater good gives you the courage to literally do anything.
WHY DOES THE 401 CHALLENGE NEED EXTRA COURAGE?
Everyday, we as a team wake up and are faced with different situations. We've learnt so much over the past year and have developed so much as people and a team in areas we never thought possible, we wouldn't have done this without courage.
WHERE ARE YOU FINDING THAT COURAGE FROM ON A DAY TO DAY BASIS?
The people around me and support I have from everyone I meet, plus the fact that if I am having a bad day I think I've been through much worse and come out of that ok.
SUMMARISE YOUR 401 EXPERIENCE SO FAR IN ONE SENTENCE.
The best and the worst experience of my life but I would do it again in a heart beat.
WHAT'S YOUR NUMBER ONE PIECE OF ADVICE FOR ENCOURAGING OTHERS TO BE COURAGEOUS AND UP THEIR GAME WITH THEIR NEXT PERSONAL CHALLENGE?
Never let people tell you you can't do something
