Can’t Go Over The Wall? Go Through It.
Finding the pressure is on for that next big race? Here at #TeamTrueStart we want to help recognise that pressure, stress and mental wellness can be issues within anyone and everyone. So how do all those household names handle it?
No Regrets And 2 Golds
Dame Kelly Holmes is no stranger to the stresses and pressures of sport after achieving the unbelievable task of being a double Olympic champion in Athens. Her way of coping is admitting that you know the pressure is there.... but that is not a bad thing.
The worst thing imaginable is going away with regrets.
Of course anything that has significance to you causes stresses and pressures, but it is good you care about something that much! So go forward with 100% effort and do as much as you can! Be proud of what you will achieve!
From Olympian Champions to people about to embark on their first run, we can all learn that everyone can have the solemn personal difficulties that could hinder us.
A Champion’s Champion
What if I’m not good enough?
A thought any one has had, including us. But did you know Michael Jordan, not only a champion of basketball, was cut from the varsity basketball team as a sophomore? Understandably he could have given up. As we know, this wasn’t the case. He practised harder and did not and would not give up until he dominated his sport. A product of training and hard work; not just natural talent.
"I've missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed." - Michael Jordan
The proof is really in the punch that you work hard enough, you will reach your personal goals!
